I have heard Sharia pronounced both ways. Either way, I'd steer clear because people will inevitably pronounce it the way you don't want.

It's not bad, but comparatively it loses so much when compared with both Soraya and Mariah. Both of those are lovely gems that have a lot of depth in their sound, and are established and impressive names.
They make Sheriah look like a knock-off.
If I didn't compare them, Sheriah would get a lot more points for both the look and sound.

Yeah. We considered it seriously for both girls. Both times I brought it to the board and everyone made the psoriasis comment. We passed on it.

As others have stated, it's way too close to sharia, especially in the current political climate worldwide.
