I think it has too harsh of a sound with that t in the middle to make any sort of real comeback. But I can see it popping up here and there on people looking for older names with a more substantial sound to them.

My husband's great-grandmother was named Alta, and she's the only one I've heard of. I do think it's a memorable name.
