I think it's lovely, but it seems like more of a wink and nod to Firefly fans than anything. If you do use it, just don't name any siblings Andromeda or Enterprise.

It may have been short-lived, but it has a HUGE and very devoted fanbase. If you use it, be prepared for lots of people to ask you if you're a fan for a very long time.
In a rather large segment of the population, it's almost like naming your kid "Millennium Falcon".
If you name your kid Hermione, you're going to be asked if you like Harry Potter. If you name your kid Serenity, you're going to be asked if you like Firefly.
