I've been asking about a lot of girl names, lately, so WDTY of Gus? It's growing on me. I don't care that it's an old man name.

It has an appeal as a simple, unpretentious name. However, Gus is the name of the boxer dog my son and his wife have. So for me, that's a factor. Yep, it definitely has dog name vibes.
Sounds like the name of a horse for some reason. Maybe as a nickname, but only as a nickname.
I have always liked it. I have been seeing a lot of Guses in the birth announcements, so it is actually trendy right now.
I don't like it, it sounds boring and dated. August is nice though.
I think it's awful. It makes me think of a big, lazy, grubby dog with terrible gas.
I'd more likely use the fuller form - Gustav, though I can't imagine this form to be too popular in the US.
Strangely, I only know of famous musicians of some or other sort with this name.
