When I was pregnant with
Miriam I wasn't around as many kids as I am now.
Thinking about it now, after coming across the names I've come across over the years? Yeah, you're right - it wouldn't be too odd.
But I once spent five minutes arguing with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law over whether or not
Ira was a girls' name and gave up. I love my family and my in-laws, but they are not shy with their opinions and I would have spent a ridiculous amount of time explaining again and again about
Noa being a femimine name.
Also, I don't care if someone is willing to name their kid
Issachar, Bear,
Atlas,
Tiberius, etc. My kid is going to have go by the name and I know how exhausting it can be when people keep asking about your name. Had I named her
Noa I would have been explaining why all the time and that would have gotten old.
Miriam is as uncommon as I was willing to get.
