[Opinions] Re: Tinuviel

Hi !!!
I love this name!
I grew up reading all Tolkien'S books so Tinuviel is familiar to me as.. Snow White? Yes, even more.
Luthien's legend is so sweet, tragic and romantic! The true love!

I might pick it up one day. I've been meaning to read The Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit. Can't say I'm a fan of the films, but I might get into the books easier. Is this book related or is it a different story alltogether?
I found the films deeply flawed and even more deeply tedious! Ignore them. Start with The Hobbit, halve your mental age and have fun. From then on, it darkens and gets wordier, but that's OK.
Thank you for the suggestion :)
Hi !!!
Luthien / Tinuviel's story belongs to 'Silmarillion' that is set thousands years before both 'The hobbit' and 'The lord of the rings' so you can read them easily and then reading Luthien's story (that was also published as a standalone book).
You can also read them chronogically so firstly 'Silmarillion' (with Tinuviel's story inside it) then 'The hobbit' and finally 'the lord of the rings'.
I love them all.

I would suggest starting with The Hobbit and LotR, then continue to Silma if interested enough. It's not an easy read book, and even the most ardent Tolkien lovers I know haven't been able to read it through. I wasn't. :D
Tinuviel is very beautiful, as a literature name. It's very light and airy.

Oh so same universe, different characters and conflicts- thanks! :)
The Silmarillion has a lot of history that you won't care about unless you're already a Tolkien/Middle Earth fan, so definitely start with the Hobbit and LOTR.
