Help[Opinions] Middle names for Marie (and one other thought)
I love Marie as a first name and I don't know why. My hypothesis as to why I've grown so attached: it's sweet and snappy, old and underused in the first name spot, and there's no end to the songs I could sing her.
The problem with Marie is that I have yet to find something that feels right with it. Marie Honorah or Marie Claudette would honour family and all that jazz, but they lack a certain pizzazz. I don't want to overwhelm the name, but I want to find some combos that're spectacularly...odd, perhaps, or just striking in a not-overly-high-class and not-typical kind of way, if you know what I mean. Marie Ophelie, for example, isn't what I want--nothing too hoity-toity. And Marie Shaelan doesn't cut it either; it needs to be something with snap.
What I've come up with thus far:
Marie Desdemona
Marie Karana
Marie Margalo
Marie Orphea (or-FAY-ah)
Marie Romelza
Marie Zuleika

Marie is a bit refreshing to see as a first name : )
Marie Claudette is nice actually. And I like Marie Karana, but it doesn't flow quite right.

Marie Karenina is really pretty--but I couldn't possibly take it as a combo until I finally read Anna Karenina. I'd feel like an imposter up until that point, hehe.

Marie Kitten~ I'm not sure how I feel about Kitten as a name (one I'll have to give consideration), but it reminds me of one that I loved back in elementary school, Sanura. It was listed in one of my parents' baby name books as being Swahili for "kitten," and cats have always been my favourite animal, so I latched on to it immediately. Marie Sanura? :D
Marie Bliss~ Problem with Bliss is that I equate it more with Ecstasy and Orgasm than with, say, Happy or Blythe. :(
Marie Aster / Astrud / Astrophel~ Hmm...Maybe Marie Astrid? Aster sounds strange when I say it, and Astrophel has sounds like the picture of masculinity to me.
Marie Denim~ I'd be lying if I said I didn't like how this sounded. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to use Denim, but Marie Denim has a very cool sound.

I don't see why Marie Claudette doesn't work for you, I think it's quite "snappy." Marie Karana isn't working for me - it's .. mar REEK arana, sorta. Not flexy enough. Maybe I'm listening too hard. It looks flash, at least.

I'm not a fan of Marie. I find it a little boring for both first or middle name. Although, I have to admit that is much nicer that plain old Mary. Marie Zuleika is the best. It's definitley got "pizzazz".
