I've taught/known a few Kirstens, and I find it troublesome--people pronounce it KER-sten or KEER-sten, and oftentimes they pick which way they want to say it, regardless of how someone tells them to say it, it seems. Also, people constantly mistake it for Kristen, and don't necessarily get that there's even a difference between Kristen and Kirsten. Oy vey. :b
