I saw this name a couple of days ago, and I really like the sound of it. What do you think?

My sister always jokes about naming a horse Chauncy someday, so to me its 100% horse. With a pink sattle pad, no less.

It sounds rather like a social-climber's name to me. Like, no one actually rich would call their kid Chauncey, but the people who want to sound like they've got money would, you know what I mean? It feels kind of fake to me.

I first think of Chaucer, then I think of Chance. Overall, I just don't like the name, not because of its associations, I just don't like the look of it.
