I pronunce Alister and Alistair the same way you do--and with Alastor, I always say ah-LASS-ter, lol.
Maya, I pronunce MY-ah because I think of the Mayan people when I see it. MAY-ah makes sense, too, though it'd get a lot of mispronunciations.
