From Sinhalese ශ්රී ජයවර්ධනපුර කෝට්ටේ (shri jayawardhanapura kotte) meaning "blessed fortress city of growing victory" or "fortified city of victory". This is the name of the capital city of Sri Lanka, commonly referred to simply as Kotte.
