[Facts] pronounciation
I'm from East Scotland and i was wondering if anywhere else pronounces Fiona as fyo-na instead of FEE-o-na.Thanks

Thanks, i was wondering if it was just my neck of the woods as i saw Fiona pronounced FEE-o-na on this website, there wasn't any fyo-na. Perhaps because it's an american site.

I've met one Fyona and lots of Feeonas; the Fyona was of British extraction but not I think Scottish - I've got a vague childhood memory of a Midlands dialect, Birmingham or Coventry or somewhere.Must say, Fee sounds preferable to the rather judgemental Fie!

I believe Fyo-na is the correct pronunciation but everyone here in the U.S. pronounces it FEE-o-na which I prefer. I've also heard it pronounced FEE-na with out the -o sound.
