[Opinions] Re: Griffin and Pheonix

Both are odd to me, like naming your kid Pegasus or Centaur.
Phoenix (this spelling only, Pheonix is simply misspelled imo) has the virtue of being attached to a very nicely symbolic creature, and partly because of that I can tolerate it as a name much better than Griffin.
A gryphon is a creature that is appointed to guard the treasure of important people. The gryphon would be so diligent in this job that it would tear to bloody pieces anyone who came near the treasure, thus preventing it from being stolen. They would never ask what the unfortunate person was doing there in the first place before killing them, and would never give second chances. So, while their loyalty and commitment to their job is commendable, Griffin for a person, to me, carries the connotations of bloodthirsty closed-mindedness (probably not quite the right word there...) that the creature itself has. All in all, I much prefer the slightly harder-to-pronounce Griffith.
Griffin and Phoenix are way too themey for brothers imo, although their sounds are nice together.
