[Opinions] Willarda
I saw this name in the paper today and went 'um...'
Don't really know what to think of it. It's not the usual kre8ive Kylania/Tykeesha/Wynter thing you see... and it sounds OKish, though not great. Guessing it's a female form of Willard. Anybody got an opinion?

It's okay, I'd take it over Madison/Kayla/Mikayla anyday. I also like Wilhelmina.

I really dislike it ...I dislike female names that are basically a male name with "a" or "ina" tacked onto the end. There are exceptions - sometimes it works and seems like a name totally in its own right - but not in this case, imo. Besides, I find Willard very dorky to begin with.

From browsing online genealogies people put up, I've come to the realisation that many people used these kinds of quirky names in the late 19th to early 20th centuries.Willarda's just the type of name that would fit into that era, so that gives it a little more substance and interest than it would otherwise have to me. Also, it's refreshing to hear a made up name other than Shanaeleigh. But still, Willarda's nmsaa. I prefer Willard, on a boy of course.Miranda

Willard isn't a great name to begin with (I think), so Willarda is just horrible.
