What do you think about this name? What about the combo Castor Eliot?

Actually, Castor is one of my favorites. I don't think I would use it as a first name (because of the associations with castor oil that have been mentioned) but I would definitely consider it as a mn because of the wonderful meaning and mythology behind it. I don't care too much for Eliot, especially when spelled this way; I always want to pronounce it ee-lee-ot.

It has a wonderful meaning and history, but it does remind me of castor oil too.Castor Eliot flows very well though. However, I do prefer the Elliott or Elliot spellings.Miranda

It's usable, but barely, because of castor oil, imo. The combo is good.He could have the natty nickname Cas.Personally I like Pollux, but not Castor. - chazda

I don't care for Castor, and I prefer the spelling Elliott. It flows, somewhat.

lol... sorry, it's terrible to me. A "castor" is an animal with long teeth and that eats wood in French...

just referenced a French-English dictionary...French castor is English beaver :) Beaver would be a horrible name for a child as well.Note: I did this for my own curiousity. The animal you described sounded like a beaver so I wanted to check for myself.

I'm sorry, Castor reminds me of castor oil. I like Eliot, but spelled Elliot.

As a combo it's okay. Separately, I dislike castor because of castor oil. Eliot is fine although I slightly prefer the spelling Elliot.
