I'm kind of indifferent to
Elijah on either gender, really. I thought it was a bit girly when I first heard it, and I think on the whole it goes in my 'prefer it on a boy, but sounds too girly to use on a real live boy' (hehe, like Pinnochio!) list, along with
Julian,
Tristan, etc.
So, to summarise my rambling, I think it could work on a girl, I think people still might expect it to be used on a boy regardless of popularity because most people know who
Elijah Wood is, and, for some people at least, is the only association they have with the name. And
Elijah Laurel is pretty!
