[Opinions] Guinness
This isn't the type of thing that I'd normally like, but WDYT of Guinness as a first name? Probably on a girl...

I'm 75% Irish and I think Guinness is a great name. For a beer. Or a dog would be great too. But on a girl? Goodness no! And it would be bad on a boy too, but better than a girl. Sorry-just my opinion.
It just reminds me of the beer, sorry.
Have to agree about the beer . . .
I don't think it's usable purely for that reason.

I like it. It sounds strong. She could always go by Ginny if she wanted something more traditional-sounding.
Sorry, I'm new; I didn't realize I was posting ahead of someone else's earlier post. I'll do it right in the future.

You haven't done anything wrong - your post is in exactly the right place :-)

Isn't that a brand of beer?

beer name?!?!?!?! :o)
Corona is also a car (at least in Australia) - an evil and ugly one at that. though that could just be because it was manufactured in the 80s... :oP
Also I couldnt name a kid after beer! Guinness sounds more masculine to me anyway. Corona is as if someone killed Carina or just having a bad day so their vowels went south (lower - a and i are higher than o).
:o) ok I've stopped now!
edit: i can't type!

Beer. Dad's favourite brand, actually
And also The Guinness Book of World Records, originally published by the same guys who produce the beer.

The McWhirter twins were the founders of the Guinness Book of Records, Norris and Ross.
Ross was murdered by the IRA in 1975 and Norris died last year.
Norris: http://uk.imdb.com/name/nm0574769/bio.
They both presented Record Breakers on the BBC with Roy Castle
http://www.screenonline.org.uk/tv/id/571186/index.html which was based on the Guinness Book of Record, which I used to watch until Roy Castle died because it was the same. Roy Castle was born in Huddersfield and used to go to a drama school in Elland (where I live)
Louise x (bit of useless knowledge for the day :) )
