I've never heard it as a nn for Berenice, myself, but I don't think it's that bad. I mean if it's just some cute nn that your family or your close friends call you I don't see what's so horrible or trashy about it. Now if you went around signing your name as Bunny and being called Bunny by everyone, I don't know if I would like that. I don't see it as being different from any of the other cutesy nicknames that are out there other than the fact that it also is used to referred to a baby rabbit. But, honestly, what does that matter...?
