It too am a "Jessamy". The name I have always understood to be female, until I discovered that some people have "Jessamy" as a last name! I have also learned that some men were given this name as well.
The same is derived from "Jasmine" which became "Jessamine" and then morphed into "Jessamy". I pronounce my name Jess-ah-mee, although I am frequently called Jess-ah-mean, Jess-ah-min, or Jezz-ah-mee/mean... I am not sure why. Haha! That is all I have on that...
