[Facts] Cätälin's pronunciation?
Cätälin (Catalin) is possibly a Romanian masculine form of Katherine. It caught my eye because it's fairly unusual that a female name--even one as old and consistently popular as Katherine--would spawn masculine versions. So I've been wondering how you would pronounce it.

I would pronounce Ä is A in "cat" (the animal). So it is pronounced in Scandinavia and Germany.
So...
KAT-a-lin, kat-A-lin, or kat-a-LIN? Or is lin pronounced LEEN instead of LIN?
Sorry if I seem dense or rude, I just want to be sure I'm pronouncing this name right. I will settle for the German/Scandinavian pronunciation, but I was more curious as to the original Romanian pronunciation.
I do appreciate the clarification that Ä would be said as A in "cat" in Scandinavia and Germany! :-)
