[Opinions] Norman nobility / Welsh royalty names
My uncle and grandmother have done a lot of research on our family tree, and they traced all the way back to both Norman nobility in the 1000s and Welsh royalty in the 800s. Of course, that far back...well, there are probably millions of descendents, and the records aren't terribly reliable either, but it's still fun to think about it. Here are some of the more interesting names from far back on the family tree:Females
Idoine
Emmeline
Annora
Maud Matilda (born abt. 1230!)
Gwladys
Sibilla
Ela
Amabilis
Nest (many of these)
Aenor
Arlette Herleva
Adeliza
Alix
Gwrgast
Ermengarde
Gwenllian
Males
Willelmus
Alcwn
Juhel
Maredudd
Rhodri
Tewdwr Mawr
Cadell
Alvred
Ranulph
Meiler
Unknown
Efa
ArddenMost of the men are Johns and Williams and Rhodris and Walters... ~ Caitlín
