[Opinions] Looking for French and Swedish names to go with Lyra.
My sister-in-law and brother have decided on Lyra for their baby girl. Lyra is from the book The Golden Compass. (Their other children, Isaac Aloysha and Mary Miranda, are also named after books) Right now they want to give her the middle name Grace, which is completely over-done to me. So I've thought about giving them a list of French and Swedish names, since she's French and he's Swedish. (Mostly, anyway)
Right now I'm in love with Lyra Sophie, Sophie being pronuced the French way.

Just because a name may be unheard of in France
Doesn't make it any less French.
I still remember when you posted a message about "American" names, and I told you they were not. You more or less said that because it was in a "French" as such, they were.
A bit of a double standard?

The french culture in Canada uses these names.
A French mn would complement Lyra well, but I'd avoid Sophie. People would never get the French pronunciation right since Sophie's such a common name in English. I'm not sure what you mean by the French pronunciation ... Like us, the French say "soh-fee", though they balance their stress across both syllables rather than stressing the first. Not soe-FEE which is not French and always makes me cringe lol.
I like:
Lyra Madeleine (mad-eh-len)
Lyra Fabienne
Lyra Marcelle
