Emmy, to me, is a nickname (or an award for television shows/actors, lol). So I prefer Emma. And I wouldn't use Emmy as a nn for it, either, I don't think. It sounds kind of hillbilly-ish to me, because it makes me think of someone named EmmyLou or something. :bAs for all the Em- names like Emma, Emily, Emmeline, even Emerson, etc. I'm just SO over them anymore. I like them, and think they are
great names (well, not Emerson...) but the overuse is just nauseating imo. :(

Emma for a person. Emmy for an award.

Emma, but I'd use Emmy as a nn, especially now because Emma is so popular.

Emma.Emmy is too immature, a child's name. Emma would grow with her.Siri

I like Emma, but as the other posters also said, it's really really too popular atm...
Whilst I love Emma, I really can't stand the nam,e Emmy, I don't know why. I've also never liked the name Emily, maybe it's the -y thing, but then again, there are also names ending in -y that I do like... So anyway, I like Emma, but not Emmy!~Lully Lulla~

I don't care for either. Emma is very trendy to me (it only gained in popularity after people found Emily too popular, but, as a result, I now think Emma is more popular), and Emmy is too nickname-y (I think it's better suited as a nickname for Emily), and rather immature sounding.I would much prefer Emily.

I prefer Emma, and I love it, but that's because it isn't popular at all here (Catalonia). If it was, I'm sure I wouldn't like it so much.
