I once knew a boy whose name was 'Trwstn' pronounced Tristan. That was just confusing.

I know a Tristan and he is about 25 yrs old. I like it.

It does seem trendy to me and a little over-the-top/precious/trying too hard. I don't dislike per se, but that's the impression it gives me. Sort of the same way I feel about Sebastian, which I also sort of like but would never use.

It's ok but "sad" on a boy, terrible on a girl.

Tristan might currently be a bit "trendy", but I think it will work on a boy/man of any age. I like Tristan, but only for a boy!

I love Tristan (boy, and boy only), it's in my top 10.

I used to love Tristan on a boy. I still do, but now I also think it'd make a good name for a girl. It isn't trendy (or used at all, in fact) where I live in Scotland, but in the US I do think it's somewhat trendy or at least popular.

I like it a lot. The only Tristan I know is about five years old, but I can picture it on an adult, so that's no problem. I don't think it's too trendy, except maybe for the fact it end in -an...

Tristan is nms. I used to like it for a boy though. I really don't think it would age well either. The name also reminds me of Triscut crackers. Kinda sounds like it.

I think it's very trendy, but not overly popular. I don't like the name, but I prefer it for a boy, and not on a girl, even though I find Tristan to be too feminine for a boy (I don't see it as a strong sounding name). I can see a Tristan at any age, but one would be able to judge his age by the trendiness, dating it to the early years of 2000, etc.

I like it a lot! I know two guys named Tristan (twentysomethings) and a girl named Tristan (21) and also a girl named Trista (24). I prefer Trista for girls, and Tristan for boys. I think it is a name that will probably age well, and I don't think it's too trendy. My only issues are that I don't like the nickname "Tris" and that, for girls, it sounds a lot like lots of other names (Kristin, Trisha, etc).
