[Facts] Just for fun: What Esperanto is Behind Your Name?
Something new I'm working on -- anagramming in Esperanto. If you would like to find out what your hidden, Esperanto name might be, I need both your first and last name. You can scramble the letters in your name for privacy, if you like. I'll anagram an Esperanto name out of your name (with a bit of tweaking, as there are some letters in the English alphabet which don't exist in the Esperanto alphabet, and which will have to be "swapped").IMPORTANT! In addition to giving me your first and last name (scrambled, if you like), you also must tell me if you are a male or a female.(Hee-hee! Pavlos is gonna have to do one for Greek names, eventually.)-- Nanaea

Hmmm - I never thought of Esperanto as having its own spellings of personal names, but it's only logical.Give mine a shot, Miz Nan: Daividh Marshall (male, last time I looked)Thanks!

"Hmmm - I never thought of Esperanto as having its own spellings of personal names, but it's only logical."Actually, I'm taking liberties with a lot of these Esperanto first names. However, the Esperanto surnames I give out are actual Esperanto words.Yep, Esperanto names are pretty much expected to conform to the structure of the Esperanto language -- which means that all nouns must end in the letter "o", or may be represented by an apostrophe (as in Esperanto poetry).Feminine first names, though, may end in the letter "a" as an exception due to the fact that names ending in "a" are almost universally (well, at least in Europe and the Americas) viewed as being feminine. An Esperanto anagram of Daividh Marshall (substituting an "l" for a necessary "o") produces:Avraham' ShildidoPronounced: ahv-rah-HAM sheel-DEE-DOMeaning:
Avraham
Shildido is Esperanto for: "Descendant of the Shield".-- Nanaea

Cool! Dont worry 'bout the "pope" part, the word originated (according to the OED) from the Greek "pappa" meaning, guess what!, "dad, and and as you know I do happen to be an abused parent.
