I don't like it much of all. Because I know so many people with the surname Anderson (this is what comes of living in the Midwest--lots of Germans and Dutch and Scandinavians!), it doesn't sound particularly first namey to me.
As a middle name, though, I think it works nicely. I think that surnames-as-middle-names sound really dignified and old-fashioned--it's a better trend than surnames-as-first-names. :)
Finn Anderson works relatively well, though there's a bit much N together. If I was using it, I'd do something like Harold Anderson or Alfred Anderson.
