[Opinions] BA in local paper (short but significant!)
I saw the first babys name and just had to share:Finlay Ella (parents Lynda and Bruce)
Nathan Sam (parents Adriana and Adam)
Kit Mitchell (parents Tanya and Waruna)
Finlay on a girl! argh! and Ella Finlay would flow so much better anyway.
I suppose Nathan Sam is ok, just nms.
Kit Mitchell - couldn't he have a 'formal' fn, Christopher, and just call him Kit? Or Christophjer is just too popular and people might then just call him Chris. How hard is it to say "Call me Kit"?Oh well I'll stop ranting and raving now.WDYT?

I like the names except for Finlay on a girl, which I dislike (Finlay is supposed to be a boy's name, and I prefer it that way).

I prefer Ella Finlay, if Finlay absolutely must be used on a girl.
I prefer Nathan Samuel to Nathan Sam
Kit Mitchell is ok, nmsTo be born Welsh is not to be born with a silver spoon in your mouth, but with a song in your heart.

I've heard Finlay/Finley a couple times on girls lately, and I agree it's awful. :(Nathan Sam is ok, but Nathan Samuel would've been better imo. Kit Mitchell - fn is too nickname-y imo

I kind of like Finlay on a girl. The first time I heard it used on a girl was Angie Harmon & Jason Sehorn's daughter, but they spell it Finley (which I prefer); her full name is Finley Faith. I guess the name is a GP for me. I really like Ella, either by itself or as a NN for Elisabeth, Isabella, Daniella, Gabriella, etc. However, I have to agree that Ella Finlay has a much better flow.I really like the name Nathan. However, I only like Sam as a NN for Samuel; it sounds so incomplete by itself imo. I love the name Adriana, although I prefer it sp. Adrianna.I don't like Kit at all. It sounds so nick-namey imo; it would have been much better as a NN for some type of formal name (although I don't like Christopher either). Mitchell isn't too bad, but it's nmsaa.

I ADORE the name Adriana (parent) when properly pronounced ah-dree-ah-nah/audrey-ahna, not ay-dree-anna
