I know a girl named Lauren Winter; her middle name is a family surname, though. I think that Winter is very nice, either for a girl or for a boy. The best middle names would be those you liked. Of course I'd prefer Winter Melora to Winter McKaylee, but one certainly doesn't sound inherently better with Winter based off of style.
Soul is a nice name, too, but it works better as a middle name. ;) And I kind of like Sol better.
