Yes, Geneva is unfortunately one of those names with disputed meanings behind it, however this is the information that I could gather on it. Don't know if it will help or not but here you go.

Geneva is also a Swiss City that is located at the mouth of a river. As you know, there are disputed meanings and some believe it to be derived from Genevieve or Jennifer. Others believe it has a French source and means "Juniper Berry."
I do not think that you are ever going to have a clear and single meaning for this name. It's one of those names that we will always be unsure about.
