Stumbled across this name in a history book i am reading. lyncoya was the name given by andrew jackson to an indian child whose parents his troops had killed and was subsequently adopted by jackson and sent home to his wife. the child died of pneumonia fifteen years later. i can find no source as to where this name came from. thank you for any assistance.
