[Opinions] wdyt of Cottia?
I've been reading a novel (set in Britain while the Romans were still there) with a female character named Cottia. Has anyone ever heard this name before? What do you think of it?

I adore ancient Roman names, but I'd have to pass on this one. Everyone would assume her name was Katya and that would get really old really fast.

Reminds me of the German word "kotzen" which means to vomit. Not a nice thing.

It reminds me of either something medical or a cheese. Haha... BUT, I think it fits for the time period. :)

I've never heard of Cottia. I wouldn't mind it, even if it does sound kind of made up to me. It's probably not something I would use; I'd much prefer Katia or Katya.

It looks pretty ugly to me... Never heard of it before. How is it pronounced?
