Indian pronounciation is often different in different parts of India, so you need to know more to pronounce it right. Furthermore, if the lady in question is from outside India, even if she be of Indian descent, she may choose a different phonological pattern.
The word could be rachnA, rachonA (-o- either like in home or like in awe), rachanA, etc. (In my post quoted by Ivayla, I said the a is like in cut: a better description is that it is like the first sound in about, though slightly more back like in cut) in various parts of India.
There is usually no -ah- sound in the -chan- syllable, and Indian languages are usually unstressed.
