In the United States, at least, his list of "50s" names definitely did get a lot of use in that time period. You'll find exceptions to all the rules, of course--there's at least one Susan in my year at school--but for the most part, they're names more associated with Baby Boomers than, say, Generation X.Array

I thought that's where he may have been getting his list but I still don't see any of them as standing out in the 1950s sort of way. They're just too common and I find it odd that they're referred to as "50s names."Especially Linda. That one just popped out. But I'm in Miami and hispanics love that name.

Well, in Spanish I think it means pretty. But 1950-1959 were definately it's golden years. Im looking at it the way someone might look at Mildred or Helen and say 1920's, or Ava and Emily and say Generation X.
