[Opinions] WDYTO Alessandria?
I've been thinking about this name a lot the last few weeks. I don't like Alexandra, Alexandria or any other variants that have an 'x'. It makes it too harsh for me I think. Also I much much prefer the 'dria' ending to 'dra'.
But I'm not sure if I like it for a fn or mn. I would use to for fn if I knew a good way to prn. it. I guess I could prn. it the same as 'Alexandria', but would people think of it like that when it is spelt with the double 's'? And I really really don't like the name Alice, which is what is would sound like if I prn. it with the 's'. Any other ways to prn.?
So WDYT? Any possible combos are welcome :)
TIA!

I think it's pretty, but prefer 'x' to 'ss'.
If it's spelled Alessandria, it definitely shouldn't be pronounced like Alexandria, imo. I prefer Alessandra to Alessandria and Alexandra/Alexandria. I'm not a fan of the -dria part. Too frilly for me.
Personally, I just wouldn't use the name if you don't like its pronunciation. Changing the pronounciation will confuse people and you'll end up correcting them all the time.
As for the name itself...Alessandria is ok, but I much prefer Alexandria, Alessandra or just Alessa. I do see why you think the "x" looks harsh though.
