Matthew Amato , Rebecca Alessia , and Deborah Adelina are 10 year old triplets from Italy. They speak only partial English. They are very devout Catholics [all first names are biblical]. Matthew was born blind and all three children are selective mutes, not even talking to each other. Our agency found them after they had ran away from home. It turns out that their mother and her boyfriend abused the children. Matthew loves to paint, and he plays percussion. Rebecca loves animals and is fond of traveling. Deborah likes to shop, write stories, and play with other kids. Both girls play the violin and the piano. Matthew, Rebecca, and Deborah are going to need counseling and lots of love.

Matthew, Rebecca and Deborah are doing good. We got them a counselor and they are doing better. Matthew, though blind, is doing well at school. He speaks occasionally, more than the other two. Rebecca hasn't said a word since she came to us, but she is happy and smiles more than she first did. Deborah doesn't ever speak, unless it's singing which is always in Italian. They seem to get along with the other children, but it is hard to know, because they never say anything. Our progress is slow, but it is coming.

So, we have been entertained with more magic shows then we can count! We have been working with him on his speech problems, and those too are improving.
Madeleine is so adorable. The other day, Levi came home from work (he is an actor) with a bunch of old costumes that were to be discarded, but he saved them. Madeleine comes out of her room every day with a different costume on. Sometimes she is Sawyer's assitant in his magic shows.
Magdalene is so cute, but she is a handful. Thankfully we have Loretta to help. I don't know what I would do without any of them!
We would love to apply again, but don't want to wear out our welcome so to speak. Don't rush with replying. Just anytime at all.

Other: we had a daughter ten years ago, but she passed away when she was four. We have not thought of having children until now, and we would really like to adopt and give children with no home a loving environment. My sister moved in with us a few years ago, after her husband abused her physically. She has severe emotional problems because of the abuse.

Katherine Grace is a 6 year old girl from Alabama (USA). She was on her way to her dance class with her parents one night when they were hit by a drunk driver. Her father died, her mom is currently in a vegetative state [with a 2% chance of ever recovering], and Katherine was left with minor head trauma, blindness [from glass piercing her eyes], and has a broken left leg. The cast should come off in about a week. She has a few problems remembering things because of her head injury, but her doctor said in a few weeks she should be back to normal. There isn't, however, any way to correct her vision. She might need counseling and a lot of support from her family. We also found out that she had been sexually abused by her uncle, who is now in prison.

Katherine fits so wonderfully in our family! Thank you so much for blessing us with her! Katie has been having counseling a few times a week, and her cast is now off. She is doing fine with getting around the house, and Helena has taken to her. I have decided to homeschool her, and I am so pleased to learn what a wonderful student she is! Thank you again!
