"just answer the question": I agree, whatever the poster writes, it's good to answer the question asked. It bothers me if the people don't do that. But anything in addition is fine. As the person who asked the question you're always free to ignore the additional information.

But I don't like it when people are being rebuked for stating their opinion. What if everyone only gave there opinion when asked? All imporant historical figures would have had to shut up then...
And on a smaller scale: Opinions are fine on the opinions board and in the lounge (depending on the subject of course)>, when stated politely. That's what the boards are here for.
