[Opinions] Re: Bathsheba?
Bathsheba makes a great Thomas Hardy heroine. But it would be hard to pull off in real life. I like it in theory, just not in practice. I have the same reaction to Balthazar for a boy. The nn Sheba is difficult for me to see on a woman because that was our labrador retriever's name. The name Scheherezade (sp?) has been going through my mind lately. It has the same feeling as Bathsheba.

ScheherezadeI love this name, and mostly because of the book 'Shadow Spinner'.

Scheherezade v. Bathsheba...Mmmm... good book. It was my first introduction to the woman Scheherezade as a kid. I like Scheherezade much better than Bathsheba. To me, it has an entirely different feel: much more mysterious and beautiful.

Scheherezade -(m)my husband has a relative(sort of cousin) named that-not going to write it again, too hard to spell! However, he's Middle Eastern, and he and the family see nothing odd in the name. they call her "Shari" some of the time.
I might add that Shari has a daughter named...Marilyn!

I love Scheherazade! Lmao. The story is awesome. I think Hera or Zaddie (ZAY-dee, like Sadie) would be a really cool nn.
