of course, Arisu is the japanese variant of "
Alice", but it can be used as a normal name in real life (spelled in Kanji, Hiragana or Katakana), eventhough it is a lot less popular than Arisa, which is the japanese variant of "
Alisa". But there are a quite a few western names like this that have been imported, mostly those than can be easily spelled in Japanese (
Karen,
Karin,
Rina,
Rena,
Nina,
Kai,
Marina,
Mari,
Maria, even
Naomi). Most of the time the spelling doesn't even change, but for the others I think it can be useful to add them. Arisa even more than Arisu maybe, and for
Naomi as well. :)
