To be honest, there are a lot more pop culture references to male Fridays than to female ones, and "Girl Friday" isn't exactly lovers' talk (it's essentially calling her "loyal servant"). So while it's fine if you see it as a feminine name, I'm not sure I'd use the title to a film in which no one is actually named Friday as proof. :)
