[Opinions] Kathleen
Kathleen - WDYT and which spelling do you prefer (Kathleen or Cathleen).
Also, how do you pronounce it. I've always heard/used KATH-leen (with the stress on the first syllable) but today, for some reason, I pronounced it kath-LEEN (with the stress on the last syllable) and that is the way listed on here. (I suppose it's a bit like KRIS-teen vs kris-TEEN for Christine). Where do you place the stress?

nt.
I've always heard only kath-LEEN and chris-TEEN. The stress on the first syllable for both would be very awkward to me, but I'm an American so maybe that's the difference? :-/
I say kath-LEEN.
It's my cousin'e middle name (one of them).

Have only seen/heard kath-LEEN, with a k, and chris-TEEN.
My name is Kathleen...
I have always pronounced it kath-LEEN. I live in the US, and I think that is the usual pronunciation here.
I have never heard Christine pronounced other than kris-TEEN.

Love this name !. I think It is streesed at Leen so Kath-LEEN.
I like Kathleen, but it's my bf's sister's name, so that kind of puts it out of the running for me :(
I say it KATH-leen (and CHRIS-teen). I think putting the emphasis on the second syllable is more of a US thing.

I place the stress on the last syllable. Kathleen has been a favorite for a long time, and it's also the name of my boyfriend's mother. I prefer it with a K, because that's the normal spelling here. It's a lovely, underused name.
I've always heard it kath-LEEN, I slightly prefer K to C in this case, not for any real reason.
It's okay, it's not that interesting to me.

I just love spelling Kathleen, and I pronounce it KATH-leen.
I've never heard anything but kath-LEEN, so if you were in Wisconsin, it'd work out fine. ;)
I love Kathleen (this spelling, particularly nn Kitty), but due to a relative fondly referred to as Sadistic Aunt Kathy, I could never use it. I shouldn't want her to think that the child was named in her honour!

See, this is why I don't like Isabelle, which most do. I had a very overbearing aunt named that, also she didn't like my mother, her sister-in-law, and didn't scruple to say so, in front of me. I loved my mother, and hated to hear her disrespected.
I really like Kathleen, but I may be a bit biased because it's my name. I never really liked the Cathleen spelling, and much prefer Kathleen, but again, I may be a bit biased. :P I pronounce my name kath-LEEN, and I don't think I've ever had anyone call me KATH-leen.
