[Opinions] Rio
I've seen this a few times, and am really liking it. It would be for a boy. Opinions?

I think it is cool...I have it on my list.
I like it on a boy, but only as a middle name. Rio is a little...flighty and strange for me as a first name. I'd have trouble taking on seriously.
It seems kind of cutesy sounding to me. Like more of a nn, or a pet's name, even. :-/ I've mostly familiar with it as a nn for River (Calida here at BtN, and it was River Phoenix's nn as well--IIRC, one of his sisters named her son Rio after him). I'd have a bit of a hard time taking a man with the given name Rio seriously, I think. And I'd also have the Duran Duran song in my head, too. ;)
Adding: Liberty Phoenix has a son named Rio Everest.

I remember being 14 and wanting to name my daughter this someday-of course, I was a "Duranie". :) I guess I could see it on the right boy.
Love it. It works for both genders
It makes me think of Duran Duran
I aboslutly love this name on a Girl!
I really like it for a boy :)
I've grown fond of the name. x
My friend has used it for her son.

It reminds me of a song we played in band called Rio Con Brio - and if a name makes me think of band, it's good by me. :)
I adore it for both genders
Love it!
I think it's really cute!

All I can think of when I see it is the Rio Grande. Personally, I wouldnt use it for a name at all, but if it were used, I'd prefer to see it on a boy.
I just keep thinking of Brazilian carnivals and people running around in thong bikinis. :) Also the Duran Duran song which I have heard twice in the last 24 hours.
It's good, I like it.Of course, for a boy. A good "calling" name.."Reeee-o! Supper!"
Love it. It's on my list for either a boy or girl. I used to have a friend with a daughter named Rio, and it was wonderful on her. But I do like it for a boy as well.
eh. i think of the river (the rio grande) when i hear it. i like it as a character's name. i guess it might work as a nn.
