I really love to see the difference between 19th century stodginess in
France and in
America. The double (sometimes triple) names are just delicious, lol! These characters are from a book I just finished this morning. All are born around the turn of the 18th & 19th centuries. Most are aristocrats, but some are peasants & servants. Nicknames are in parentheses. WDYT of these?

Adélaïde - the narrator calls this a pompous name, lol! It actually sounds pretty ridiculous in French, much less approachable than the American prn, imo.
