[Opinions] Names from a French novel
I really love to see the difference between 19th century stodginess in France and in America. The double (sometimes triple) names are just delicious, lol! These characters are from a book I just finished this morning. All are born around the turn of the 18th & 19th centuries. Most are aristocrats, but some are peasants & servants. Nicknames are in parentheses. WDYT of these?Denis
Désiré
Jean
Julien
Marius
Pierre-Simon-Paul (Paul)
Simon-Jacques (Simon)Adélaïde - the narrator calls this a pompous name, lol! It actually sounds pretty ridiculous in French, much less approachable than the American prn, imo.
Gilberte
Jeanne - love the French prn of this name
Lise (Lison)
Ludivine
Rosalie
