The pronunciation makes no sense.Shanae in Australia would be SHA-nay.ETA: I stand corrected according to the guide on here. How odd.ETAA: I meant Sha-NAY.

Another Thing...According to the site, Shanae comes from Shania. I always thought it sounded more like a phonetic translation of Sinead. Furthermore, according to the popularity charts, Shanae was popular in the US in the mid 80s, then disappeared in the early 90s, while Shania became popula in the mid-90s. So people were naming their kids a variant of Shania before Shania Twain made the name popular?

It doesn't make sense to me either. Esp since it says it's from Shania which would make me even more inclined to think it was prncd sha-NAY. I like the sha-NAY prnc, hate the sha-NEES, prnc.

Actually, as far as I know it's sha-NAY, not SHA-nay. My best friend's sister is Shannae sha-NAY.
