As the mom of a young
George (he's six and a half), I don't find it at all old man-ish. That could be in part because my aunt
Georgiana has been called
George for ages. I've only heard of two other young
George's so despite its ranking in the U.S. I wouldn't consider it boring or overused. I have heard of more
Georgia's lately though. I'm very fond of most of the girl versions, too. (And
George as a nn for a
Georgia is too cute!)
I'm not reminded of Dubya, but again, that could be because I am the mom of a
George, he is what automatically comes to mind when I hear it. Well, him and the curious little monkey, of course. We do call him
Georgie, and its terribly cute, imo. :)
