[Opinions] "Exciting adventure, fashion and fame

...once you're a Gem girl you're never the same."
That is a way outdated reference, and I tip my hat to anyone who remembers. It was Jem, though, not Gem, but the sound still triggers the same memories for me.
I don't care for Gem on its own, but I think Gemma / Jemma is great. Short and sweet, versatile, and less usual than the similar sounding Jenna or Emma.
ETA: I'll just link to what I'm talking about; I don't think anyone'll remember it. http://www.beyondjem.com/ or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20BZID081Vk

Haha, that's exactly what I thought of! I hadn't thought about Jem for quite some time. :)
Also, I prefer Gemma over Gem.

"Truly, truly, truly outrageous...."
I remember "Jem". I thought it was fabulous back in the day. I also love Gemma, but not the J spelling for some reason. Though the thought of her getting called Gem or Gemi (Jimmy) are a bit off-putting for me, that and getting mistaken for an Emma.
