I think Rachel is a nice name; it's very sweet and innocent. I wish it was prn more like Raquel, though. The "Ray" beginning and "ch" middle grate on my ears a bit.

I think it is very classic sort of name, but it has been popular since I was a kid. The harsh 'ch' is not my favorite sound. Plus, I have only met one or two (besides the ones on the boards) Rachels in real life that I have genuinely liked, so that has put a damper on it for me.

Its my real name (only mine is spelt Rachael) so I'm kind of biased. The thing I hated most about it was how popular it was back then but I agree with whoever said it seems to be decreasing in popularity. It seems like its not as common as it once was which is good, I suppose. I'm always seeing and writing Rachael and it just looks strange to me without the additional A. =/

I prefer the spelling Rachael for no particular reason, though it's not a very strong preference. One of my long-standing favorite combos is Rachael Miriam.

Well I only know two Rachels, so it's not the popularity that gets me, it's the sound. That annoying "ach" sound.

Well, Rachel Penelope pops into my mind, but Penelope is popping up with everything for me these days.

Being a Rachel, I really don't like it. I have never had a year in my life where there wasn't at least another Rachel in one of my classes. The popularity has gone down since I was born in 93 though, so its ok. Still popular though.

I honostly can't think of any combos. The only one tht comes to mind is Rachel Cara, my name.

I'm not the biggest fan, mostly because it's mine, and I never liked how common it was. (Though, I think it's getting less popular. Not a LOT less popular, but it's going down a little)
