I love the foreign (to me, anyway) birth announcements!I like:
Alena
Anja as a nickname
Elena
Emma
Gabriela
Hana
Helena
Izabela spelled Isabela or Isabella (this looks tryndeigh to me, I'm afraid)
Julija
Jelena spelled Yelena
Katarina
Klara spelled Clara (this looks tryndeigh to me too)
Lara
Lea
Lucija
Luna (GP)
Maja
Matea spelled Mattea
Melani spelled Melanie
Sarah
Sofia
ViktoriaMarija and Marijana as part of a triplet set? That's ridiculous.

Glad you like them. That's why I post them, I know some posters like to 'hear' names from different languages. As far as spellings go, all of them are normal and the norm in a Slavic language like Croatian.

This would probably be easier to just list the ones I don't care for. I dislike these:
Dolores
Dorian (on girls, nice for boys)
Nives
VidaI really like the rest.

Alma is really not that much used (i know two Almas, one is 28 and the other 15), and it was never popular, but it still comes up now and then.Barbara -it not pronounced the English way, it more like bahr-BAH-rah.Dorian -it is a boy's name, but some parents are trying to do the 'American thing' and give their daughters male names thinking it makes them cool.Nives -es, it's pronounced NEE-ves'.Glad you like them, I know you always find 'my' names interesting.
