[Games] Re: Darkest Congrats Round One

Colour: Black
Number: 2Posting Name: X Mar
Surname: Romanov
SO: Ruslan (20)
SO: Noa Valentina (27)
DD: Isadora Jona "Isa" (0)Both of the grandmothers are hoping that the first child is named after them, but you both absolutely hate both of their names: Connie Joan and Phyllis Dorothy. How do you compromise without hurting your mothers’ feelings? (You may ignore the naming rules for this round if you choose to honor.)
(I've decided to write from the first person perspective instead of the third)I've had a relationship with Ruslan for a little over a year now. The age difference still feels a bit weird to me, but I've gotten used to it for the most part. I even got used to the raised eyebrows of other people when I tell them his age. Ruslan got into a huge fight about two months after we made our relationship official. He had had fights with his father before, but this time it had gotten so bad that he decided it was time to leave there. He told me needed a place to stay and asked if he could move in with me. I was shocked about his request, because I had no intention at that time to have him live with me. I did see the urgency of the situation and I felt I just couldn't hurt his feelings, so I said it was okay. Two months after that I discovered I was pregnant. It was absolutely not planned (we had taken measured to avoid this), and I wasn't happy with it in the beginning. After I had told Ruslan, I felt a bit better. He was cautiously excited about it. After we talked about our options, we decided to keep the baby. Ruslan dropped out of school and got a job (even though I begged him to complete his education). He's working as a construction worker now, because he knew someone there who could get him a job fast. I'm happy that he took his responsibility serious, part of me still expected a more adolescent reaction out of him. When we found out it was a girl, we made the big mistake of sharing that information with the rest of the family. Both of my grandmothers hinted that it would be really nice if the little girl would be named after them. I'm really not happy with it, because I think their names are awful. Fortunately my mother says that she doesn't care if the baby is named after her or not, she's just hoping for a healthy granddaughter. From Ruslan's side of the family we had no people that we needed to honour. I really don't know anyone of his family, besides his father and siblings anyway. I never even heard him mention his mother; I think I need to ask him about this. Ruslan said that we might as well honour my grandmothers, just as long as it's not with the FN. He says he doesn't really care about MNs (it's not tradition for him to give a child MNs). He wanted to give her a FN we liked and 2 MNs to honour them both, if it would make them happy. When I said that I really don't like their names, he said that we can make something nice out of them. He suggested a bunch of names and we like Jona (anagram of Joan) and Isadora best. I actually liked Isadora so much, that I wanted to give it to her as a FN. He was rooting for Sapphira, but 2 days before her birth he said Isadora was good, as long a she had a shorter NN.
