You know
Aidan,
Braden,
Caden,
Hayden,
Jadon but have you heard of
Raiden? I read a book by
Laura Joh
Rowland and found the name there.
It is Japanese and means "thunder and lightning". I am not sure if the name is prounounced as "Ray-den" or "Rye-den" in Japanese, but in English it would probably be pronounced as Rayden.
I think it would be a nice alternative if you like aden-names but find the others too popular. I like the meaning too, the same meaning as
Tor (or
Thor) has. The god which gave name to "Thursday".
"You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."
"It does not become me to make myself smaller than I am." (
Edith Södergran 1891-1923)
