Cordelia is lovely. Lulu is sweet but I don't think it can work on its own. Can you really imagine a 50 year old woman named Lulu? Someone introducing herself as Lulu X at a job interview?

Cordelia isn't my style. It seems very dated to me, and I just don't care for the sound.

Lulu is cute, but only as a NN imo. It just seems insubstantial on its own to me. I immediately think of Lulu Spencer (the daughter of supercouple Luke & Laura) from the soap opera, "General Hospital" (her's is a nickname for Lesley Lu), but regardless, there's still something sweet about it.

Lulu is a nickname I have been called since I was a baby. I'd say people call me that 40% of the time... I love it :D And although I would prefer it as a nickname, I think it's a much better given name than Tryniteea or something of the like. It's perfectly respectable, imho.

I love Cordelia too, it's my #2 FN. It's so spunky and distinctive and shaped perfectly. I also like the (imaginary) connection between it and Latin cor/heart. And Delia's a nice nickname. So is Della. I love it.

Lulu cannot work on its own, although it is definitely really cute. I know a little Lulu! She is Lucia Marie (her last name ends in -ia also. I kind of wish her parents had just gone with Lucia Maria and got it over with, especially as she's Spanish). I don't see why it would need to be on its own when it can be a nickname for almost any full name that begins with an L or has a prominent L sound.

Cordelia is a bit stuffy and over the top for me, but it's fine for someone else's child.

Lulu I really love! I've loved this name for years and while many on this board will say it's too cutesy and childish, I think it's totally fine for a grown woman and I definitely think it can stand on it's own.

Cordelia could grow on me.

Lulu could work. I know a little girl named Lula. It fits her really well. Lula is a little less cutesy than Lulu.

Cordelia has been growing on me lately, but it's not a favorite yet.
Lulu is way too cutesy for me. I don't care for it as a NN let alone a FN.

Personally, I strongly dislike Lulu and find it too insubstantial but Cordelia is very nice.

Cordelia is NMS but has the benefits of being strong, classic, easy to spell and having great nicknames (Corrie, Lia...)

However, Lulu isn't as good IMO. Sorry if it seems harsh cause I really don't want to be mean but I can't stand this name at all - it just seems ridiculous and should only ever be used as a jokey nickname IMO.

I don't really care for Cordelia, though it's a fine name. It sounds rather harsh and clunky to me. I love Coralie, Leah / Lia, and Cora, though.

Lulu is waaaaaaay too cutesy as a full name. It can be a nickname for anything starting with L IMO.

Cordelia - Love it. I'd call her Cora or Cor for short, but Cordelia is a really pretty name, with a great namesake (from Shakespeare's King Lear). It's great to see people favoring Cordelia over Regan!!

Lulu - Since I saw Waitress, in which she names her daughter Lulu, I've loved it. I like it more as a nickname, though. I'd rather name a daughter Lucille/Lucy/Lucia and call her Lulu for short.

Not a fan of Cordelia... I don't like having "Cord" in there. (Don't like Cornelia either, for a similar reason)

Lulu makes me think of Kirk's girlfriend from Gilmore Girls ("Have you met my girlfriend, Lulu?" "This seat is saved for my girlfriend, Lulu"). I think it could work, but probably would be better off as a nn.

No, I wouldn't say to put Lulu on it's own, it's nice as a nn, but not for a full name.
